The Liminal Skin
Poem by Edwin Torres

Part I: SOUTH
     youthful, wonder, alert, loud, dynamic
Part II: WEST
     middle-age, present, thoughtful, contemporary, steady
Part III: EAST
     imaginary, jester, subconscious, alter-ego, magic
Part IV: NORTH
     wise, future, abandoned, questions, possibility

if South is young, then West is present
if West is now, then East is imaginary, the ego of now
if East is jester, then North is calm, abandoned, quiet
